A stay home mom for about four
years, my husband and I decided with our youngest child
entering into school full time, I was now ready to go back
to work. Learning from experience, having worked many
different kinds of jobs in the past, we realized that
finding a job to fit my family schedule was not going to be
easy. With many different talents behind me I could have
chosen any profession from customer service to the Dental
field, to even Criminal Justice, my old career choices did
not feel appealing.
I figured I needed to do
something I enjoyed, something that would not interfere with
spending time with my husband and 4 children. As I began
looking at advertisements for jobs I kept bumping into
housecleaning ads, however no one would hire me. I had no
experience in housekeeping (getting paid). I decided to try
an agency. The agency advertised that they would check into
my work history and criminal background. I had no problem
with either one. I went to the agency prepared to give as
much information that was required, unfortunately they did
neither, they hired me on the spot and I received my first
home the very next day. I had to clean a two bedroom home in
3 hours and charge $93.00. The following Saturday I cleaned
a four bedroom home for 8 hours and charge $128.00.
Confused, I realize people where being charged unfairly. My
first clients house where new to the agency so it wasn’t a
discount of longevity, the distance was about the same so it
wasn’t a discount of mileage. With a couple of weeks into
the agency I was not happy with their way of doing business.
I began looking into finding clients on my own. I needed to
find one person to give me a chance, I was bringing with me
years of houses I cleaned for my church members; several
years of cleaning the church I attend, not to mention being
a housewife for over 10 years. I needed a person to bring me
in and trust that I was a great housecleaner, trustworthy
and loving, if anything just to show them what I was capable
of doing.
I got my big break I was hoping
for in August of 2007 and as of today I have over 10 clients
that I attend to on a monthly basis and have cleaned over 20
homes including business.
I am a devoted woman to my
husband of 10 years, a devoted mother of 1 boy and 3 girls
and a devoted woman to all my clients (especially my
elderly). All of my clients know that my first and for most
priority is my Heavenly Father and then my
family. I have built my business on Faith
and trust. Each one of my clients knows, without a doubt
that I can be trusted to take care of there home as though
it is my own. On occasion they get to see a different side
of me, but that comes with in time. I am not an agency but
an individual, who is possibly thinking of building my
business with employees that are somewhat like me, in the
future. Till then I will enjoy every minute of Gods
Blessings.
Up Date…October 2008
That was me about 10 months ago,
as of today I now have over 20 clients that I attend to on a
monthly basis and have cleaned over 40 homes including
businesses. Eighty percent of my clients are referrals, and
of course I try very hard to accommodate every single one of
them. There are days I am gone as early as 5:15a.m and back
home as late as 9p.m. This has led me to the move of
becoming a business on October 1, 2008. I am no longer an
independent housecleaner I am now the owner of “Serious
Cleaning” and I owe it all to my wonderful clients that have
helped me in every step of the way with referrals, advice,
and most of all there caring hearts to see me succeed. I
also owe a great deal of love and appreciation to my husband
and children that have put up with my crazy schedule of
housecleaning and of course keeping up with our own home. In
it all my greatest love and appreciation is to my
Heavenly Father who has given me strength on the
days I had no energy, keeping me going when I wanted to give
up and of course for blessing me with my supportive husband,
children and every client that has entered into my life. I
am truly blessed.
Serious Cleaning is not
an agency it is a business. In January 2009 we will be
hiring employees that will work side by side with me for a
period of at least 1 month (thanks to my supportive
clients). Every employee will have an extensive back ground
check, with the company looking into past employment and
criminal background. I will have a personal relationship
with every client that chooses to go with Serious Cleaning.
I want every client to know that we are a company that wants
our clients to feel a sense of love and warmth, and that at
any time of the day they can call me and let me know how
there housekeeper is working out for them. At Serious
Cleaning our CLIENTS will come first!!
